Lee Ufan Foundation Arles

Amazingly, after the Lee Ufan Museum in Naoshima, Japan, and the Espace Lee Ufan at the Busan Museum of Art in South Korea, Lee Ufan has decided to set up his foundation in Arles.   Inaugurated in 2022, the foundation is a unique artistic space dedicated to the work of the famous South Korean painter, sculptor and philosopher. Located in a restored historic building in the heart of the city, the foundation embodies the vision of an artist deeply rooted in the dialogue between matter, space and time.

Art meets serenity

Lee Ufan, a leading figure in the Mono-ha (School of Things) movement, explores in his work the interactions between raw materials and their environment. Through works in which voids and silences are as important as visible elements, the artist invites us to slow down, meditate and fully experience the present moment.

In choosing Arles, Lee Ufan wanted to anchor himself in a city already rich in artistic history, thanks in particular to Van Gogh, the Fondation van Gogh, Luma and the Rencontres de la Photographie. This new space is a continuation of this tradition, while bringing a global and contemporary perspective.

Lee Ufan Arles offers a range of ticket options to accommodate various visitors:

• General Admission: €9
• Student Rate: €3 (for students under 26)
• Reduced Rate: €6 (applicable to holders of a ticket to the Fondation Van Gogh Arles, seniors aged 65 and over, groups of more than 10 people, job seekers, holders of the large family card, artists affiliated with the Maison des Artistes, teachers with the Pass Education, and holders of the Pass Culture)
• Free Admission: Available for individuals under 18, recipients of minimum social benefits, disabled visitors, tour guides, journalists, and war invalids
• Commented Visit: An additional €5 on top of the ticket price; available Tuesday to Sunday at 3:00 PM; reservations should be made at least 48 hours in advance
• Private Guided Tour: €100 plus the cost of tickets; available during opening hours for groups of 1 to 15 visitors; reservations required at least 48 hours in advance; tours can be conducted in French, English, Italian, or German
